Has anyone ever cracked or broken a rib or the sternum?
I have had a pain in my sternum which sometimes moves to a rib right under my right breast. I’m terrified to go to the doctor and get a chest xray. It only hurts when I move. It never hurts when I’m just sitting in one position-only when I bend backwards or to the side. I have been doing a lot of lifting–heaving furniture, books, etc by myself. I lifted a 200 lb unassembled dresser in my car by myself. Has anyone ever had this pain before?
Sounds to me that you have a pulled or strained muscle. When I cracked my ribs it hurt all the time, even breathing hurt.
